Not only taking life has these different karmic consequences, but all of the various kinds of unvirtuous conduct have their respective, corresponding results, which we need to contemplate when we sit down for meditation practice. We need to reflect deeply on the different kinds of negative conduct and the negative types of consequence they bring about. This kind of contemplation is essentially what we do in our practice of renunciation and bodhicitta as well.
