In certain places, there are also Chinese Buddhist centres around. These centres should also emphasize the study, reflection and practice of the Buddha’s teachings. It is not appropriate that such dharma centres simply be places for burning incense and making offerings to the Buddha or, even more inappropriately, be places for holding all kinds of commercial dharma activities. The core activities of dharma centres should revolve around the three elements of discipline, meditation and wisdom and, in terms of practice, study, reflection and meditation.
