Even though the Tibetan tantric tradition does not have the specific practice of searching for the origin of speech and then afterward its “tail” like the Ch’an tradition, nevertheless, this process of investigating the nature of the arising thought and the nature of its abiding is, in fact, the same kind of practice. This is not a logical procedure; we are not acclimating our minds conceptually, but rather engaging in an experiential practice. It is definitely possible to gain experiential realization of, and insight into, the nature of our minds through this method.
