Every single time that we engage in some kind of dharma activity, whether be is offering incense, donating some money, or engaging in a session of meditation, we need to begin by examining our mind and asking ourselves what our motivation is for engaging in that particular action. When we do this, we will discover that there are three potential levels of motivation that we might have: the highest motivation, the middling motivation, and the lowest motivation.
